Pickerington "hometown boys" Brian Stoner and Don Smith have brewed up a brand new spin on one of the oldest sports — bowling. It's a $4.5 million unconventional spin to be exact. Stoner and Smith are turning the idea of an ordinary bowling center into an extraordinary entertainment complex, offering a unique convergence of recreational forms.

Slated for a soft opening in December 2008, the 29,000 square foot entertainment complex named Rule 3 , will be located on Windmiller Drive in Pickerington. It will boast 22 lanes for traditional, private-premium and mini-bowling. A state-of-the-art 4,000 square foot arcade will also be included along with three eateries consisting of a premier restaurant, a world-class sports pub and a comfort-contemporary café. In addition, the complex will showcase a first-of-its-kind Wii lounge and six private rooms for coroporate and meeting space to host business gatherings, private birthday parties, graduations and special family celebrations.

Brian Stoner graduated from Miami of Ohio with a degree in accounting and currently owns Diversified Inventories located on Tussing Road. The company is a reverse logistics and distribution business for major apparel manufacturers. Stoner and his family have been residents of Pickerington for the past five years.

Don Smith, a second generation custom home builder and 1993 OSU graduate in business, is handling the construction and development of the entertainment complex. Don is an Ohio native, born in Orient. He has  been a Pickerington resident since 1993.

Both Stoner and Smith plan their new entertainment complex to be "filled with a mixture of offerings, comfortable and exciting, relaxing and stimulating, entertaining and leisurely," remarked Smith.
